DMI therapy is a comprehensive therapeutic strategy used to treat children with gross motor and neurologic deficits. DMI employs a set of unique and challenging exercises to enhance postural responses and movement abilities in order to assist children in reaching age-appropriate milestones. DMI therapy can be incorporated into any child’s therapy program, independent of motor skills or cognitive level. This intervention promotes neuroplasticity in the growing brain, allowing for the formation of new neural connections. DMI therapy complements other therapeutic procedures and modalities quite well.
